Microfibre Care Instructions

To ensure you get the maximum value and extend the life of your cloths please follow these simple cleaning instructions.

How to Care for Your Microfibre Cleaning Cloth

  1. Wash in the washing machine before use
To achieve best results without streaks, simply rinse in warm water frequently during the cleaning process and wash thoroughly when task is completed.
  2. Beware of residues left by previous cleaning solvents or sprays. You will have to wash off the residues up to 2 to 3 times. notice thereafter that the surfaces will stay clean much longer.
  3. For hygienic and practical reasons, we suggest you use one cloth for one particular task or room. (i.e. 1 for the bathroom, 1 for the kitchen, 1 for windows and mirrors, 1 for dusting purposes etc.).
  4. To clean your cloth, gentle machine or hand wash using an environmentally friendly detergent or soap (i.e. no bleach, no softeners, and no phosphates).
  5. To eliminate or prevent odor, put in very hot water with vinegar for a few minutes.
Microfibre cloths will pick up bacteria however, the bacteria does not grow or multiply in the cloth. To free the cloth of bacteria place in boiling water for a few minutes.
  6. Avoid any latex-base painted surfaces as the bonding agent (glue) will clog the microfibres. If it happens, wash the cloth many times (at least 15 times) in very hot water.
  7. As the microfibres pick up everything in their path, avoid caulking on windows (especially old windows) and be careful with water-based painted surfaces.

Taking care of your microfiber products is pretty easy, there are just a few things that you should remember to keep your products effective and long lasting. You can wash and dry your microfibre products in your household washer and dryer, with warm water and low heat.

To keep your microfibre “like new”:

  • Do not use Bleach
  • Do not use Fabric Softener
  • Do not wash with other cotton products

Microfibre products do not like bleach, bleach breaks down the polyester and polyamide micro-filiments, rendering them less effective.
Fabric softeners provide a layer of “softeness” on your clothing, which is nice for clothing that you wear, but this coating clogs the microfibres, rendering them less effective.
It is not that microfibre products do not like cotton products or other fabrics, it is that when you wash your cotton products with microfibre the microfiber products grab and hold onto the lint that the cotton produces.
